A solution to making Need for Speed: Rivals run at 60fps on the PC platform, therefore bypassing the 30fps framerate lock placed by developer Ghost Games, has appeared and doesn't result in doubling the game's actual speed.

NFS: Rivals on PC disappointed a lot of owners because it had a framerate locked at 30fps, despite the fact that other games powered by the same engine, Frostbite 3, had no such restrictions.

Now, a solution to this problem has appeared online, via PixelEnemy on YouTube.

The fix is easily implemented, as NFS: Rivals owners on PC should just create a shortcut for the game on their desktop and add a special mention to its shortcut entry in the form of " -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+" without the quotation marks.

The result is a game running at 60fps without doubling its rendering speed. Bear in mind that there are a few caveats to the solution, but we have tested it at Softpedia and it works flawlessly.
