EA is set to announce Need for Speed: Most Wanted, a possible reboot of the classic racing game from 2005, at least according to an email leaked from online TV network Twitch, via Complex.

Electronic Arts is set to announce a new Need for Speed game at E3 2012 and, judging by most reports up until now, it’s going to be related to NFS: Most Wanted, the critically acclaimed title from back in 2005.

While many believed that the game would be called Most Wanted 2, the company is apparently preparing to reveal a simply titled Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

No other details are mentioned, but everything is set to be revealed right at the start of E3 2012 next month, during EA’s traditional media gathering.

Given the fact that the game might be a reboot, just like 2010’s Hot Pursuit, it’s safe to say that the game is coming from the same developer, Criterion Games.

It's too popular a game and too early for a reboot. A sequel is what the fans have been asking for. Yes, I know Carbon continued the MW story a bit but that really wasn't a true sequel.
