NEC has launched the lightest laptop in its category of 14" widescreen display, called NEC Versa E3100. This new laptop is aimed at both consumers and commercial clients that want performance and an attractive design.

Weighing in at only 2.2 kg with an integrated optical disk drive and battery, the NEC Versa E3100 is the lightest 14" widescreen in its class. It is powered by the latest Intel Pentium M Processor and features DDR II Dual Channel Memory Support for optimum power and performance and a great mobile digital lifestyle experience.

The NEC Versa E3100 is housed in a blue casing, complemented with a silver keyboard. The 14" Super Shine View widescreen LCD display has a high resolution of 1280 x 768 (WXGA) which is good for watching DVD movies as well as surfing the Internet. The display also offers a larger viewing space compared with conventional XGA displays.

NEC Versa E3100 supports integrated DVD Super Multi Drive with Double Layer recording capability and comes bundled with RecordNow! software. Nec claims that its new laptop has a 4 hours long battery life.

The new Nec laptop is also equipped with wireless LAN, 4 USB ports, 4-in-1 card reader, and Infrared function. Depending on the models, users will have the option of a 40GB, 60GB or 80GB hard disk drive.
