Nec's professional monitor division seems to be hard at work these days since the company has just announced another 23-inch professional graphics display, designed specifically for photographers and users working in color-critical applications, just a few days after the SpectraView 231 saw the light of day.

Much like its predecessors, this new addition to the MultiSync PA series promises to deliver the same impressive image quality, its Full HD resolution panel being able to cover 75.4 percent of AdobeRGB and 71.6 percent of the NTSC color space while also delivering a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Furthermore, Nec also uses a 14-bit 3D lookup table (LUT) for precise color calibrations, users having the possibility of controlling two computers connected to the MultiSync PA231W with only one keyboard and mouse, each of these using their own color space thanks to Nec's DisplaySync Pro technology.

Other features include a 270 cd/m² brightness level, an ambient light sensor, that adjusts the display's brightness depending on the external lighting conditions, a carbon footprint meter and cost meter as well as a 4-way ergonomic stand with height, pivot, swivel and tilt adjustments.

Connectivity wise, Nec uses almost the same configuration on all of its professional grade displays, the MultiSync PA231W getting a DisplayPort input, two DVI-D ports as well as an VGA analog connector and a USB hub.

“The addition of the MultiSync PA231W provides our customers with more options when it comes to choosing a professional-grade display for their workspace,” said Art Marshall, Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions.

“Key technologies in this product combined with eco-conscious features enable users to depend on their monitors for accurate color, great ergonomics and convenience.”

The MultiSync PA231W will be available in November 2010 at an estimated street price of $679, so if you want a professional grade display you will surely have to pay a pretty penny in order to get one.
