Predator's office speakers?

There are zounds of iPod speakers out there and they range from the most stupid and conservative to the most innovative ones and looking truly awesome; there are serious speakers and there are funny speakers...pretty much for anyone to choose anything and everybody to end up happy with their choice. But from time to time, some iPod speakers with something completely new and "magic" show up, pretty much to us,
editors' delight.

The new iPod speakers on the shelves now are the WinniF Air Speakers, one more good-looking piece of audio technology that will make choosing even harder than before. The first thing that's really striking is their uncanny design, looking pretty much like Predator's desktop speakers or some Goa'uld device: everything has been beautifully rounded and there are no sharp edges whatsoever...and this is rather cool, in a neat sync with the shapely iPod players.

The actual speakers are placed on the sides and are covered with silver cloth; their side-firing position help for a better sound dispersion in a small room or even in open spaces. The front of the WinniF Air Speakers' elliptic body is a large translucent plastic cover hiding an LED mood light "engine" that constantly changes color as the music plays - this might be very cool as you're listening to some Diana Krall smooth Christmas songs but I can't imagine how these everchanging lights would go with some very fast death metal...

The changing lights can be turned off, though

These lights could be of help for a romantic evening

The "alien magic" is just coming up, as the WinniF Air Speakers do not sport any visible or touchable volume controls. In order to crank them up or settle the blast down, all you have to do is wave your hand in an almost caressing manner in the upper or lower part of the speakers' body, respectively, as seen in this movie. According to your magic influence, the volume will raise or decrease and you'll definitely set deep and total confusion on your unadvised friends.

The WinniF Air Speakers runs on USB, AA batteries or DC 6V current and sports Line In and Out mini jack connectors to easily hook up with your computer or portable players. The mood light can be of course turned off. If you plan to add these Air Speakers on the Christmas gift list or are looking for the thunderstruck looks on your friends' faces, $64.90 for the WinniF are one neat price.
