Stats show that Red Star OS isn't quite the top choice for North Koreans

While we've recently heard that North Korea is making serious efforts to push Red Star OS as the number one choice for all local computer users, statistics are showing that Windows continues to lead the OS market for the time being.

Unsurprisingly, Windows XP remains the operating system that North Koreans love the most, as it currently has a market share of 41.33 percent in the country, according to figures provided by StatCounter.

Windows 7 comes second with 33.43 percent, followed by Windows 8 with 10.83 and Mac OS X with 9.59 percent.

As you can see, Windows is still dominating the OS market in North Korea, but with end of support coming for Windows XP, Red Star OS might get a second chance to make a name for itself.

It remains to be seen how many users actually want to migrate to a Mac OS X look-alike that's actually based on Linux.
