A survey conducted by Toluna QuickSurveys and published by Huffington Post reveals that 28 percent of all computer users still choose Windows 7 over Windows 8, in spite of Microsoft’s efforts to advertise its new operating system.

38.6 percent of the respondents said they are very likely or quite likely to upgrade to Windows 8, while 27.4 percent revealed they are quite or very unlikely not to deploy the new OS.

Sadly for Microsoft, 29.4 percent of the 2,000 people participating in the survey said they have absolutely no intention to make the move to Windows 8.

Analysts expect the recovery of the PC market to increase sales of the Windows 8 OS as well, but 48.8 percent of the respondents claim they do not plan to buy a new PC in the next year.

I really do not know why Softpedia keeps knocking Windows 8 - both your own article writers and those repeating information from other sites or services. Have you even tried it? I think it is much better than Windows 7. I used to enjoy reading your articles, but I am thinking of removing all bookmarks to your site. Give it a break, it's like a scratched record at the moment, still playing the same old tune day in day out. How about saying something - anything - a little in Windows 8's favour?

One "People choose Windows 7 over Windows 8" article per day, huh! :D
I get it, we get it, but it's just getting like a broken record, to paraphrase mr. apex.

They do so,despite the desperate activities of Microsoft to change to Windows 8.
When Microsoft do get Windows right, they deserve the financial rewards, conversely, they deserve nothing, when it all goes pear shaped.

Windows 8, is a 'pear-shaped' version of Windows 7,even when the hiccups have been sorted,it will still be a big FAIL.

In less than 3 years,it will be hogging the 'C' drive, like all their other distro's,more so,now that Microsoft only intend regular 'updates',as opposed to an SP.
My 'C' drive,is now swallowed up with 20.6 GB of WINDOWS files, compare W8 now, with what it will be like 3 years hence.

It's partly why we need new OS's every 2-3 years, just a pity, that there's no equally good alternative out there.
