Navigon, a world-leading manufacturer of navigation systems, is announcing a promotion for its Audi-branded Las Vegas Navigator app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Requiring one of the aforementioned iOS-based devices, and firmware version 3.0 or later, Audi Las Vegas Navigator is free to download for a limited time in anticipation of the International CES trade show in Las Vegas.

“Visiting the 2011 International CES in Las Vegas? Grab the app now! - It's available for a limited time only,” Navigon announced.

“Audi Las Vegas Navigator transforms your iPhone into a fully functional mobile navigation helping you to find your way to the 2011 International CES in Las Vegas,” the company continues.

According to the official description, Audi Las Vegas Navigator uses the reliable iPhone navigation software MobileNavigator and includes Nevada map material from the market leader NAVTEQ.

Last month, Navigon released version 1.7.0 of its MobileNavigator iOS app for North America.

The app transforms a user’s iPhone into a fully functional navigation system that is every bit as good as the company’s multi-award-winning personal navigation devices.

MobileNavigator offers a wide range of maps and even more features and functions, Navigon said.

Back to the Audi Las Vegas Navigator, the developers outline the following key features for this free-to-download piece of software:

Features and range of functions: - iOS 4 support including Multitasking and FastAppSwitch - Simple, intuitive user interface - Can be used in portrait and landscape format - Precise voice announcements - Intelligent address entry - Latest available NAVTEQ map data - Live Weather information (at destination and on route) - CleverParking - Reality View Pro - Lane Assistant Pro - Real signpost display - Speed Assistant with adjustable audio-visual warning - Direct access and navigation to your iPhone’s address book contacts - 2D and 3D map displays (bird’s-eye view) - Quick access to user-defined POIs in the area and along the route - Take Me Home function with a single click - Route Planning - Text-to-Speech voice guidance - Automatic Day/Night adjustment - Integrated iPod control - Location sharing via Email - Enhanced Pedestrian Navigation - Google Local Search - Coordinate Input - SOS/DirectHelp - Turn-by-Turn RouteList - Connection to Facebook and Twitter.

The only included map is that of the state of Nevada, according to Navigon. Generally, an app like this goes for $30-$40.

Before downloading the app, users should note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life, Navigon says.
