Navigon has released an updated iPhone application in time to guide travelers through a Fourth of July road trip, the company said.

The free 2.1 update includes such goodies as Google Street View, Navigon Cockpit (as an in-app purchase), manual route blocking, a 'Custom route' mode that enables manual blocking of route sections with just a tap of your finger, and improved Retina display support for the new iPad.

The app displays maps faster now (or so it should, according to the changelog), and the app itself launches faster, said Navigon. The app manager has also been improved.

All the Navigon apps for iPhone and selected in-app purchases are available at a reduced price until July 16, 2012, the company said. Visit this page to choose your country’s version of the app.
