Navigon AG has released a free update to its North American version of the MobileNavigator for the iPhone. Regularly priced at $99.99, MobileNavigator North America is now on sale ($69.99). The free update adds new features and enhancements.
The MobileNavigator transforms any iPhone 3G or iPhone 3G S into a complete navigation device, provided the device has OS 3.0 software installed. Current users of MobileNavigator North America will get notified of the free update by the App Store. If the App Store icon on their handset doesn’t display the update-available sign, they just need to launch it and go to the updates tab. If one has the app installed on their device, the update will appear as available for free download (Internet connection required).

Navigon AG says on its website. “Try the feature for yourself and enjoy the excellent user control and superior design that allow simple and intuitive operating. The application includes the latest map material from the market leader NAVTEQ and can be used without an Internet connection, which is of enormous benefit abroad, for example, as no extra charges are incurred,” the company explains. “With MobileNavigator you can turn your iPhone into an equally handy and convenient route guidance system,” Navigon AG concludes.
