We've come across plenty of rather unusual or weird iPhone 4 docking stations ever since the smartphone made its official market debut, but without a doubt, one of the strangest models we've ever encountered is the one you'll read about as follows, namely the Nautilus.

Without a doubt, the Nautilus is quite a strange sight from the moment you dock your iPhone 4 onto it, featuring a curvy, metallic body (it's actually manufactured from a heavy zinc alloy and can be equipped with optional metal feet, should anyone require them), that's sure to get some attention.

However, its functionality goes beyond that of a simple accessory meant to provide some sort of visually pleasuring experience, given the fact that the Nautilus also charges one's iOS device while docked, not to mention synching it with a computer, when connected to one via an USB interface.

But that's not all, since, according to Firebox (the outlet where the Nautilus is available), the docking solution also has quite a special internal structure, one that will actually boost the volume generated by the iPhone 4's own built-in speakers.

Now, this is clearly not the first product of its kind to come up with such a claim, so it's better that you take this with a pinch of salt, unless you get to experience it live before actually purchasing it.

As far as its overall size is concerned, we'll have to admit that the Nautilus will take just a tiny amount of space wherever users might decide to place it, given the fact that it measures 4cm x 11cm x 7cm.

Despite of its interesting look and features, the Nautilus iPhone 4 dock is a bit too expensive for its own good, selling for somewhere in the vicinity of 80 pounds sterling (127 US dollars), which is a rather questionable price point, but completely worth it, if the level of audio delivered by the docked smartphone is really as good as advertised.
