The development team at Naughty Dog might already be working on two big projects, but the studio still has plenty of resources left to devote to an entirely new secret title, which at the moment includes some great ideas and exciting features but has no official name.

Evan Wells, one of the co-presidents of the company, tells Game Informer that, “We have the sizeable team that it takes to get something like that off of the ground, but it’s got a long runway in front of it. We have a lot of great ideas and some stuff that is already getting everybody jazzed and excited. So, it’s a long way off before we can really start talking about it in detail.”

The fact that the creative team that delivered the wonderful The Last of Us is working on the next Uncharted title at the moment does not impact development on the secret project, which benefits from concepts that the entire studio has contributed to.

The leadership of Naughty Dog does not currently want to deliver any details about its future title, including potential launch window and genre.

The new Uncharted video game project is being developed exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and the company has suggested that it plans to change some of the core elements of the franchise and might include a new protagonist.

The game is designed to use all the hardware power introduced by the PS4 and Sony says that it will be one of the titles that will make its next-gen platform shine.

At the same time, Naughty Dog is creating the PlayStation 4 focused Remastered version for The Last of Us, which will include a visual upgrade and all the downloadable content that has been launched for the title so far.

The title has already picked up a lot of Game of the Year awards and a re-launch might attract even more fans.

It’s unclear whether Naughty Dog wants to create an entirely new game universe for its secret project or if it aims to revive an older series that has been associated with the PlayStation brand.

Naughty Dog has recently undergone a change in staff, with Amy Hennig, the former leader of the Uncharted team, leaving in order to work on a Star Wars video game at Visceral Games.

The studio has said that the process is normal and that it has had no big impact on the titles it is currently working on.
