Naughty Dog, the developer of
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, is asking fans of the series which it has created to weight in on the new multiplayer lists which should be offered for the game. A poll has been posted on the
official site listing the options and an update, containing the chosen new content could be delivered by Sony and Naughty Dog in the early days of 2010.
The new multiplayer lists, that Naughty Dog invites players to choose from, are: Plunder Only, described as “No variations, nothing but capping treasure and shooting enemies”; Crushing: All Game Types – which makes player engage with less health and without all the boosters which they can get; Crushing: Deathmatch Only, which is pretty self explanatory; Skilled Objectives – which introduces Skill Level to the game with Naughty Dog saying “Skill Levels are tied to each playlist, so all players would start with a Skill Level of 1 in this playlist, regardless of the Skill Level already achieved in the Ranked playlist”; Deathmatch Variants Only.
Arne Meyer, who is a designer on
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, has said that “We can't guarantee that we'll be releasing the most popular playlist”. At the moment the Plunder Only options seems to be the most popular with gamers, as it has garnered about 45% of the popular vote, with Crushing: All Competitive in second place.
Ever since release, Naughty Dog has said that initial DLC for the game will focus on creating more options for the multiplayer element. Further down the line, players might get more characters to play around with and more maps and the company is not confirming whether they actually plan to release any more single player content for Uncharted 2 or not. As we've said in out review of the latest Nathan Drake, adventure holds up pretty well to scrutiny and the various multiplayer modes are meaty enough to sustain player interest for quite some time.
