This September, developer Naughty Dog is celebrating its 30th birthday by putting on an art show taking off on September 27.

The team started out small, as all teams do, before becoming the 200+ member behemoth it is now, and the company is looking to tell some of the rich stories behind many of the games it had developed over the years.

Venue and schedule

A Tribute to Naughty Dog: 30th Anniversary will be viewable at Gallery Nucleus, the first place where the full-length video will be available, during special screenings held on October 4 and October 12, before being made available online, later this year.

The art show will kick off on September 27, with a lot of fun events, including cosplay, a huge birthday cake, a photo booth area, many special guests, and the opportunity for attendees to get their hands on cool merchandise such as The Art of Naughty Dog art book.

In addition to this, the company will also host some special workshops in concept art and character art, featuring numerous artists from the studio.

"From our start as a team of two at JAM Software to the world-renown, two hundred plus devs at the studio you know today, we've been hard at work to continually set the standard then surpass it with every subsequent game we create. We're looking back while looking forward in our upcoming 30th anniversary art show and video," the announcement on the company website reads.

Merch and contests

"The Art of Naughty Dog" art book will be made available for purchase after September 27, in both regular and limited edition, and those interested will also be able to get 30th anniversary T-shirts from the fan artists who won the We Love Fine 30th anniversary design contest that took place earlier this year.

The art show ends on October 12, and the developers of Jak and Daxter, Uncharted and The Last of Us urge their fans to tweet their favorite Naughty Dog memories with the tag #NDMemories, featuring favorite gameplay moments and stories, and the dvs will retweet the best submissions.

There are, no doubt, plenty of those to go around, considering the studio's extensive roster of developed video games, which includes timeless classics such as Crash Bandicoot and many others.

Furthermore, the devs are also entering a partnership with Treehouse Brand Stores, in order to make some of the cool items shown during the art show available for everyone to buy.
