Your hair care routine usually includes lots of shampooing, conditioning, massaging, brushing, and all that over and over again. It takes up a lot of time and implies major investments as well, but your hair is still not as bright as it should be. We were taught that healthy is shiny, and maybe that's where the problem is to be found. Your hair might simply need some old-fashioned special treatment – home-made remedies have proven their efficiency so many times that it's beyond any doubt that they're just the thing for you and your lackluster hair.

The question that should first come to your mind when about to purchase a hair product based on olive oil is why should you even bother when you have a whole bottle in your kitchen cabinet. You'd better head to the kitchen and start enjoying its other benefits as well. Depending on the length of your hair and the gravity of the situation, you can start mixing 1 to 3 teaspoons of oil with 2 or 3 eggs. Then, all you have to do is to cover your hair with the mixture, from the roots towards the ends. Let it work for about 30 minutes, while you watch your favorite TV show, and then wash your hair as usual.

The funny thing is that other ingredients containing the same stuff work in the same way. For instance, if you run out of eggs, just fetch the mayo bottle and do your thing. Butter can also work wonders, although in a different way, as a small chunk of it does a great job for dry hair, if applied and then covered up with towel. After half an hour and a proper rinse, you'll feel the difference.

While speaking of things you can find lying around the house and that are of great help for your hair, we might as well mention that beer is also extremely beneficial. Before washing the hair, add about 3 tablespoons of beer to a half-full cup of warm water, which you are to use after shampooing, as a conditioner. Leave it in place for a couple of minutes and then rinse gently.

Let other women worry about their hair, you’ve got yours well taken care of.
