I am glad to see that more developers are starting to understand that there are more than "teen male gamers" to create titles for. Girls should not be ignored anymore and, gladly, things seem to be on the right track - this fall will see quite a few titles for girls only released. And
this is something which helps both the industry and the gamer world as a whole, since you never know when a girl gamer evolves into a hardcore, Halo 3 playing fanatic.

But it's still a long way, so we'll have to focus on Natsume's latest girl-game, entitled Princess Debut which, as the name suggests, allows girls to make their debut in the virtual worlds as charming princesses ready to meet and charm one of the six princes.

A rhythm and adventure game for girls developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS, Princess Debut offers players the chance to step through a magical portal and enter a world where they instantly become princesses. However, we all know that the little monarchs are not complete without the company of a prince, so you'll have to begin a quest of mastering dance moves and becoming the best dancer in the world in order to woo one of the six princes for the upcoming royal ball.

"What young girl doesn't dream of becoming a princess? Princess Debut transports girls into that magical fairytale world while introducing elements of dance and music," said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume. "Princess Debut is a fun rhythm and adventure game with some of the most beautiful and fluid dancing ever seen in a DS title."

As in more adult-oriented visual novels, players will have 30 days to complete their task (in similar ways to anime games like True Love or Princess Maker). Using the touchscreen, we'll have to accomplish our mission and learn how to do the perfect spin - all these while dressing our little princess in one of the 20 different outfits and dancing to no less than 18 different musical genres. And one thing is certain, too: with 18 different endings prepared for the game, Princess Debut will keep your girl in front of the DS for a long time!
