14 DAY TRIAL // Nationite recently announce that it will enter on the tablet market with a new product called Rocktab, which will run on the Android platform. The device is a much better alternative to all the fake or low quality tablets that are rolling out from China every week.
Designed for the people with low budgets that are in need for such a device, Nationite Rocktab is not something that will rock your world, but for the money you pay I'd say it's a pretty decent tablet.
The device is powered by a 600 Mhz Rockchip RK2808 Processor and runs Android 1.5 operating system. Even though the later might sound obsolete, the company preferred to go with something that was guaranteed to be the most stable.
As the producers stated the same processor is used by those knock-off tablets that are trying to copy devices like iPad, called aPad, iPed, iRobot.
Still, while all these knock-off tablets have major issues with the Android OS includes, which is unstable and not fully optimized, the Rocktab tablet seems to have none of these issues.
Nationite Rocktab comes with a large 7-inch resistive touch screen with 800x480 resolution, built in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, multiple language support, 3G (via dongle), accelerometer with 360 degree rotation of the screen, 3.5 mm jack, 128MB RAM, as well as microSDHC card slot for memory expansion (up to 16 GB).
The tablet is Android Market-ready and comes in three different versions: 2GB, 8GB and 16GB.
Nationite Rocktab is expected to be available on the market by mid October. Still, the device is already available for preorders and here are the prices: Nationite Rocktab 2GB - $129.50, Nationite Rocktab 8GB - $149.50, and Nationite Rocktab 16GB - $169.50.
The prices above also include a $20 discount, which is available until the tablet's official release on the market.
