Natalie Portman Marries Benjamin Millepied in Traditional Jewish Ceremony

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied are now married, it's official. Almost half a year after word first got out that they'd been married in secret, here comes the confirmation: the official ceremony was held over the weekend, two different weeklies state.

At the Oscars 2012, Natalie and Benjamin sported matching wedding bands, sending the rumor mill into overdrive with speculation on whether they could have tied the knot in secret.

The jeweler who designed their wedding bands confirmed the reports only days later.

However, it seems that the actual religious ceremony was postponed until this weekend, both Us Weekly and People magazine say.

“Mazel tov! Six months after very quietly debuting wedding bands at the 2012 Oscars, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied exchanged marital vows in a Jewish ceremony at a private home near Big Sur, Calif.,” Us Weekly writes.

“The 8pm wedding took place beneath a chuppah – and in the dark! No other details were immediately available,” the same media outlet says.

People too confirms this – though not straight from the Portman camp – saying that only family and friends were invited to the ceremony.

“Here comes the bride! Natalie Portman said 'I do' on Saturday night to her fiancé of two years, French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, on the scenic central California coast of Big Sur,” People writes.

“Surrounded by family and friends, including Ivanka Trump, the pair exchanged vows after dark in a Jewish ceremony at a private home,” adds the report.

Natalie and Benjamin met on the set of the film that earned her an Oscar for Best Actress, “Black Swan,” on which he was head choreographer.

By the time they acknowledged their romance, they were already engaged and expecting their first child together. Aleph is almost 14 months old.
