14 DAY TRIAL // Happy and surprising news for all Natalie Portman fans: not only is the actress engaged to be married, but she’s also expecting her first child. Confirmation comes from Natalie herself.
While shooting for her latest film, “Black Swan,” Natalie became romantically involved with ballet pro Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the routines in the film and also got a starring role in it.
Though she never talked about the romance, saying she liked to “keep [her] private life private,” talk about it did emerge online. Tabloids soon dropped the topic though because, with Natalie, one never knows.
Which made the announcement all the more shocking, as USA Today also points out. Natalie got engaged to Benjamin over Christmas and will give birth to the couple’s first child in 2011.
Further details are not available for the time being but, as it is, it’s more proof that, when it comes to keeping a secret and her life out of the media, there’s no better woman than 29-year-old Portman.
“So just who is the man who stole Portman’s heart?” USA Today asks. Until just recently, it seems Millepied was just a ballet dancer slash actor who had the honor of working with Portman and Mila Kunic on Darren Aronofsky’s film.
“He’s a 33-year-old French-born principal dancer at the New York City Ballet who choreographed the ballet scenes in the psychological thriller, for which Portman is garnering Oscar buzz,” the same publication explains.
Confirmation of Portman’s engagement and pregnancy also comes from Aronofsky, who’d like to take credit for the two becoming a couple in the first place.
“I asked (Portman and Millepied) the other day if I get credit for that,” he says for the aforementioned e-zine.
“They said, ‘You get credit.’ He is amazing. He is a serious guy who is doing very serious things with his life. I think it is a very good match,” Aronofsky adds.
