Having Natalie Portman and Christian Bale in the same film might be every movie buff's dream come true but, to Natalie herself, it's nothing short of a nightmare. She's sick and tired of Bale and his impossible demands on the set of “Knight of Cups,” says a new unconfirmed report.
The National Enquirer writes in its latest print issue (story via
CB) that Natalie is this close to walking off the movie set because she can no longer stand to be in the same place as Christian.
Unnamed sources tell the tab that Bale is such a perfectionist that he's driving everyone else insane with it – and he's also inconsiderate enough not to care about it.
“Natalie can’t stand him. She thinks he’s tedious, arrogant and a disgrace to the acting profession,” one spy is quoted as saying.
Admittedly, if she weren't a real pro, Natalie would simply drop out of the project because she hates Christian that much.
They have about an hour's worth of scenes in the film, the spy goes on to say, but Bale's attention to detail and obsession with perfection is making the shoot drag on for much longer than scheduled.
“Christian is constantly frustrated by his own work and incredibly intense and highly stressed over each scene,” says the spy.
“He’ll insist they shoot over and over again because he didn’t like how he punctuated a line or something. Sometimes they wind up spending all night on the set just to satisfy Christian’s obsessive perfectionism,” the source adds.
“Natalie’s really offended by Christian’s behavior and feels he’s completely dismissive of her… she thinks he’s all about his ego, and he doesn’t care who he insults or inconveniences,” the same tipster reveals.
Fans will know that Christian Bale has a reputation for being
a difficult man to work with because he's all Method and has some anger issues but, at the same time, he's also known as a consummate professional. The above report is perhaps best taken with a grain of salt.
