The official Nasdaq community forum has been taken offline after being breached by cybercriminals.

In a notification email sent to users, Nasdaq representatives have revealed that usernames, email addresses and passwords might have been compromised, Yahoo’s The Exchange reports.

Fortunately, the attack has not impacted trading and commerce platforms.

Impacted customers are advised to reset their password for the Nasdaq community forum and all other sites on which the same password is utilized.

Nasdaq is currently working on upgrading and restoring the website. The organization promises to notify customers as soon as the site is back online.

In the meantime, the communy.nasdaq.com website displays the following message: “We are currently upgrading the NASDAQ.COM Community site. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

This isn’t the first time when the stock exchange is targeted by hackers. Back in April 2012, nasdaq.com was disrupted by a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack launched against it by UGNazi.

Nasdaq suffered an even more serious attack back in early 2011, when cybercriminals targeted the stock exchange’s Directors Desk.
