Wow. Much race, such livery. The Internet has done it again.

The fact that the Internet is a powerful force is indisputable, but seeing the Dogecoin logo ending up slapped on an official Nascar race car via a crowdfunding effort sparked by a thread on Reddit is nothing but a testament to the fact that impossible is nothing. Yes, another Internet meme.

Nascar '14 developer Eutechnyx is staying true to their goal to accurately recreate the entire Nascar atmosphere, from the thrills of racing to the actual cars and drivers involved, and as such has announced that they will distribute Josh Wise's car in an upcoming Nascar '14 DLC pack.

Why this is particularly of note is because the car in question is the very same one sporting the endearing orange face of doge, the most famous canine in the world.

Over the last year, the meme featuring the confused dog and various internal monologue captions has grown to such a magnitude that some fans of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency developed a similar virtual currency system, which they called Dogecoin, and which takes a step sideways from the long-standing tradition of having a dead politician's face stapled on it and replaces it with the mischievously smiling doge.

The entire thing started when a 16-year-old Nascar fan spotted a completely black Ford rolling on the track with no sponsorship livery slapped across it, and decided to take things to Reddit in order to set them straight. As such, Reddit members quickly raised the hefty sum needed to cover Josh Wise's car in a full-body ad and decided to transform it into a rolling billboard for Dogecoin.

This proved to be a very popular move, especially with the younger Nascar audience, and as such developer Eutechnyx has decided to add the car in a future DLC pack for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 racing game.

"As the company behind the NASCAR video games and mobile games, we love to see more technology-oriented partners getting involved in NASCAR. I think it will bring NASCAR to the attention of a lot of people that haven't been exposed before," Ed Martin, executive vice president of Eutechnyx, tells CNN.

So far, there is no specific date regarding when the downloadable content pack will be released, but publisher Deep Silver will surely deliver an official announcement once everything is set up.

Eutechnyx has mentioned that they do not intend to launch Nascar '14 on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 consoles, due to their small user base that doesn't justify the huge development and licensing costs associated with a Nascar title, and that a potential sequel to the racing sim might arrive sometime in 2017.
