Namco Bandai may be in a bit of a tight spot, after firing around ten percent of its employees, but that doesn't mean that it plans on cutting back on the number of released titles. While the game itself was announced back in December, the publisher has now issued an official press release announcing the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 release period, with the Hidden Leaves of Konoha falling this autumn. The game teases us with "new features and enhancements," as well as with a "comprehensive character line up" that stays true to the original story.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is under development by CyberConnect2, a Japanese developer that has an extensive experience with anime-based video games, having worked on around nine titles based on the .hack// series and about as many titles inspired by the Naruto manga. The game promises to stay very close to the original universe and the story arc, allowing players to choose their companions in order to face the most adequate team for every encounter. Among the new features it mentioned, players will be able to Team Special Techniques, linking with their party members to unleash powerful attacks.

The game features the original Japanese voiceover, a large amount of unlockables and power-ups, as well as some story surprises for those that aren't up-to-date with the manga or the anime. Players will face a series of Akatsuki members in huge battles, including the organization's newest addition, Uchiha Sasuke.

Among other features, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will offer them several new environments to explore, a two-player offline multiplayer mode, as well as a very loyal visual depiction of the characters that is sure to thrill many Naruto fans. While the original Ultimate Ninja Storm was released on the PlayStation 3 only, Naruto Shippuden UNS2 will also arrive on the Xbox 360, so even more fans of the anime and manga will be able to enjoy the "number one unpredictable ninja."
