Fans of anime and fighting games have a lot to look forward to, as the upcoming Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution introduces a new character, created especially for the game.

Developer CyberConnect2 has made significant changes to the game's combat system, which remained practically unchanged for some characters over the last few iterations of the Naruto video game series, in an attempt to attract fans of more hardcore fighting games to the upcoming title.

In order to achieve a combat system that is both more complex but still remains enjoyable for more casual players, the company has relied on staff members who are fighting game experts in such titles as Street Fighter or King of Fighters.

In addition to over one hundred playable ninjas, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution will also introduce a new game mode, Ninja World Tournament, where players will engage in four-way ninja battles against three computer-controlled opponents.

In a recent interview with Siliconera, CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama has revealed a few bits of new information on Namco Bandai's upcoming brawler.

He has confirmed that the development team is always keeping up with how the manga's story has developed, always making sure that every character has its latest abilities, with their main concern being to faithfully represent each ninja and to keep things consistent.

The game is bringing the most playable characters in the entire series, and the new and exclusive single-player mode has prompted the team to ask the series' author, Masashi Kishimoto, to create a new character for it.

"You know, if we make an original character in the ordinary style, that's kind of boring; we need to make a character that'll have impact so that everyone in the world will be surprised by it," has been Kishimoto's response, and as such everyone has gotten to work and Mecha-Naruto has come out.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution's story will span the entire Naruto world, up until the latest episode in the anime, and the new game mode will offer players a new kind of ninja experience.

Additionally, the Ninja Escapade game mode will allow players to visit three different episodes, which are exclusive to Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, The Creation of Akatsuki, The Two Uchiha, and another secret one that the company is keeping as a surprise.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is due out in September this year, coming to the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms.
