It's been only a couple of days since supermodel Naomi Campbell pleaded guilty to assault charges, stemming from a law suit that one of her former maids filed against her. The help was then later fired (after being hit in the head with a diamond-encrusted Blackberry) and the model allegedly tried to keep the story under wraps by not letting the injured woman call an ambulance for the gash in her head.
'I had an apartment at 500 Park Avenue. Ana Scolavino was an employee of mine. During the morning of March 30, 2006, I threw a cellphone in the apartment. The cellphone hit Ana. That was an accident because I did not intend to hit her. I am advised that Ana was hurt, and I am sorry about that.', was how Naomi's admission of guilt sounded like.
Because of it, she was sentenced to pay her former maid's hospital fees (she required four stitches and a visit to the emergency room), five days of community work and mandatory anger management classes. It seems that the whole court hearing got the model a bit upset and traumatized, because the British media reports that she is now in Brazil, where she is seeing a witch doctor.
While she's there, Naomi also took some time off to hit the beach with a couple of her friends and to kick some cameraman's ass. Apparently, she saw him as he was preparing to take his camera out and snap pictures of her, lashed out at him, surrounded him with the aide of her girls, and kicked him until he agreed to take the film out of the camera and hand it to her.
A publicist for Campbell denied that she was seeing a witch doctor for her temperamental issues (you don't say!), claiming she is now in Brazil for fashion week and to be named the country's goodwill ambassador. Said doctor has a totally different story. 'She's got very interested in it. She does not practice is as a faith, but she listens when I tell her the history because she is passionately involved in the roots of our African culture.', he told one British newspaper, adding that yes, he had been meeting with her to talk about how to deal with her anger.
