When Naomi Campbell says she has been having the worst year of her life, she definitely knows what she's talking about. After a string of accusations and lawsuits filed against her for harassment and physical harm and after being arrested at least a couple of times, the model speaks out in an attempt to salvage what reputation she still has left.
The 38-year-old model is due back in court at the beginning of January to respond to the charges one of her former maids pressed against her. The woman, who worked just briefly for Campbell, claims she was hit in the head with a cell phone, threatened and left at a hotel overseas, after her employer had ripped off her passport.
As usually, Naomi's lawyer said that this latest suit was just another way for the former maid to get some attention and, of course, more money. The model, in her turn, kept mum all this time, refusing to ever address the question in public.
Now, in a very recent interview with 'Sky News', Naomi speaks and defends herself, by claiming that she is just a regular person, with no behavioral problems whatsoever, who at one point became some sort of target for all those gold-diggers out there. 'What's awful about it is it's dropped - none of it was concrete evidence to be held. It's just like: "Where does this come from and why?" I just feel like I am a target. People have told me for months and years "you're a target" but it's only just kind of sunken in that I am a target.', Naomi says.
But she is determined not to let that change her life in any negative way: all she has to do from now on is to be more careful with the persons she hangs out with, because she might never know what their next intentions would be.
'I have to be very careful who I'm around, what I say, who's around me. I cannot be with someone on my own anymore because I don't know the agendas that people have.', Campbell concludes, adding that the only thing on her mind right now is her health and the health of her family.
