Naomi Campbell is not just an out-of-control abuser, she's also a shameless racist. That might sound strange coming from a someone who, in the course of her groundbreaking modeling career, was the first black cover girl for Vogue Paris and first black model to appear on the cover of Vogue UK and Nippon, plus Time magazine. Sadly, Campbell's severe anger management problems have recently revealed that the veteran model is harboring some shameful resentment towards many of her fellow human beings. Campbell was pulled off a transatlantic British Airways flight and arrested last Friday at Heathrow airport in London, after having launched a tirade of racial slurs at a woman cop. The shocking part is that after her release, Naomi told a friend she had only been picked up because she was black.
This does sound a little like that story about the boy who cried "wolf". Only in this case, the supermodel threw more serious insults at the BA staff and the policemen who were trying to deal with one of her famed hissy fits. Campbell's history of assault and battery is not a secret to anyone. As a result, when the model started abusing the BA cabin crew over a misplaced carry-on bag, the only way to stop her hitting anyone else over the head with a cell phone was to call security and have Campbell escorted - actually, dragged - off the plane. During her arrest, Naomi reportedly shouted racial insults at a woman cop, calling her a "white s**g" and some of her colleagues "white h***eys". After her subsequent release on bail, Campbell allegedly complained to a friend that she had been taken off the flight because of her being black. "It just goes to show I have to fight for who I am. It's because I'm black," she said.
Someone should set the record straight as soon as possible and explain to Naomi that she was pulled off the plane due to her abusive behavior and because she was deemed a risk to the security of the staff and to the other passengers. "It's a bit rich coming from her," was the reaction of a senior Scotland Yard police officer quoted by The Sun, who added that "the WPC said she was called a white this and a white that. She has been away from work since the incident". As a result of her outrageous behavior, BA senior management decided to institute a lifetime ban on Naomi, who will not be welcome aboard any of the company's flights again. "All incidents of abusive or disruptive behavior towards fellow passengers or staff are taken extremely seriously and will not be tolerated," reads a BA statement. However, Campbell's spokeswoman denied her client's racial slur, saying "this doesn't sound like anything she would say". She was probably afraid of being next on Campbell's hit list if she claimed otherwise.
