Naomi Campbell has a reputation of a very flammable temper and a propensity for throwing items at whoever crosses her, for which she’s made headlines many a time, but not even she is safe from muggers. The supermodel was brutally attacked in Paris a few weeks ago, it has emerged now.

Page Six reports that the muggers had been probably keeping an eye on Naomi, waiting for her to be alone to strike.

The opportunity arose when she went out in the streets in Paris to hail a cab, which is when they moved in for the kill.

“The supermodel was set upon by thugs as she tried to hail a cab and was ‘knocked over and robbed,’ we’re told. She suffered a torn ligament, and reported the incident to French cops,” the publication writes.

Understandably, the model was shocked by the violence of the attack, which has forced her to be in crutches and a wheelchair since.

“It was terrifying. Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone. She was attacked in the street as she hailed a cab, and robbed,” an insider says for the same media outlet.

“Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up,” the same tipster reveals.

For the time being, there’s no word on what the thieves might have carried off in the attack, but speculation has it that they were specifically targeting Naomi because of the expensive jewelry she’s in the habit of wearing.

Since she was mugged, Naomi has increased security about her by hiring extra bodyguards, and has filed a complaint with the police. She did not suffer any other injury than the torn ligament in her leg – and the huge scare.
