Naomi Campbell allegedly assaulted her driver in NYC, is now wanted for questioning

Iconic model Naomi Campbell is known to have a bad temper and issues of self-control, if one were to believe her many alleged victims, former employees whom she assaulted at one point or another for various reasons. This time too it’s an employee who steps forward to claim he’s been slapped and punched by the model, who fled the scene of the incident afterwards, as People magazine can confirm.

The claim comes from Naomi’s driver, a 27-year-old man who told police the model lashed out at him a few hours ago, slapped and punched him, and then left before police could arrive on the scene. It’s not known what the driver did (or did not do) to set Naomi off and prompt such a violent reaction, but the ongoing investigation should settle that, as the driver has filed a harassment complaint, as per ongoing reports.

“Campbell, 39, is wanted for questioning by the NYPD after allegedly slapping and punching her driver on the east side around 3 p.m., according to reports. The supermodel reportedly assaulted the driver before getting out of the car and leaving the scene. The driver had pulled over to speak to a traffic agent. A spokesperson for the British model says, ‘There shouldn’t be a rush to judgment. Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye’,” People magazine writes.

Apparently, Naomi fled the scene shortly after the driver made the call to the police to report the assault. However, since no police officer was there to witness the incident, the model stands good chances of not being charged, though the driver still has the option of filing a civil suit against her, other reports in the media are saying. He could also build a very strong case against her, as he’s believed to have required medical attention for “bumps, bruises and neck pain.”

Campbell’s track record might also weigh heavy in the balance against her, should this go to court. “This is not the first time Campbell has been accused of violence. In 2006, she was arrested for hitting her housekeeper with a crystal-studded BlackBerry during a fight. A judge ordered her to complete several hours of community service in 2007 as a result. In 2008, she was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and fined $4,500 for assaulting two police officers in London’s Heathrow airport,” People magazine says.
