As most of you must know by now, the latest news reports on Intel's Atom and VIA's Nano processor claim the latter is better than the highly-rated Atom. All surveys and head-to-head reviews of the two small-sized processors appear to indicate a single winner, namely VIA's Nano CPU. Undoubtedly, this encouraged VIA to further advertise its product, by posting a rather interesting video with it on the Internet.

After viewing the video uploaded on YouTube, one can't but applaud the guys at VIA for having delivered one of the best products on the market and for making people see it too. This is, in the end, a product that has enabled VIA to compete with one of the largest companies in the world, the leading chip maker Intel. Even more, the Nano processor has seen quite an impressive share of reviews, all of which place the small processing unit as a top competitor in the netbook market.

In the video, two distinct netbooks are put in a head-to-head competition, meant to offer users a better understanding of how both Intel's Atom and VIA's Nano can render multimedia content. One of the two netbooks is a VIA OpenBook equipped with a 1.3GHz Nano processor, while the other is an ASUS Eee PC powered by the already famous 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor. Both netbooks run a Windows XP operating system, and use a Windows Media Player to render a 1080p HD video (Robotica).

Impressively, the VIA OpenBook managed to render the HD video content almost flawlessly, while the Atom-powered ASUS Eee PC had a visibly though time managing the high-definition video content.

The video, also available below, is undoubtedly worth seeing, as it goes to show how a small company such as VIA can deliver a truly competitive product. In this sense, VIA could also serve as a good example to AMD, which is rumored to be working on an Atom competitor.
