6-year-old Lucia Krim and 2-year-old Leo Krim have been pronounced dead last night, from horrendous stabbing wounds. The two children were found by their mother in the bathtub in the family's Upper West Side apartment. They were accompanied by their nanny.

Yoselyn Ortega, the children's 50-year-old nanny, was found lying in a bath of blood next to the children. The woman was unconscious and has suffered stab wounds to the neck.

The doctor's report has shown that the nanny's wounds appear self-inflicted. A knife was found at the scene, but, as the investigation is ongoing, no evidence has been made public.

According to ABC News, Ortega is currently a patient of the New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is in critical condition, but physicians believe she will make a recovery.

The woman had worked at the Krims for a year. She has no criminal record, and no motive has surfaced that would lead her to this gruesome crime. Police haven't made any arrests in the case at this point.

The children's mother, Marina Krim, wrote a popular blog titled "Life with the little Krim kids." She returned home with her other 3-year-old daughter, from a swimming lesson to the luxury La Rochelle, to find the terrifying scene.

Her husband, Kevin Krim, a CNBC executive, was away on a business trip in San Francisco at the time of the murder.

Neighbors heard someone screaming in the apartment at around 5:30 p.m., the same time the mother returned home.

“There was some kind of screaming about, 'You slit her throat!' It was horrible,” one neighbor, Rima Starr, stated.

As the police came, the mother became hysterical and started screaming and crying.

“[The mother was] crying out 'What am I going to do with the rest of my life? My life is ruined. I have no children, I have no children,'” another neighbor recalls.
