The man arrested for brutally beating a woman and throwing her down the stairs in Milburn, New Jersey has pleaded not guilty to assault and attempted murder charges.

He also faces counts of child endangerment, robbery and burglary. According to NY Daily News, he just got out of prison in December after being convicted for four robberies.

As I wrote, 42-year-old Shawn Custis was arrested in Manhattan after video evidence of the attack caught on a nanny cam surfaced.

He could not post $750,000 (€578,000) bail and he was remanded to Essex County Jail where he is awaiting a trial following his arraignment. Custis, of Inwood in Manhattan, will be represented in court by public defender Sterling Kinsale.

Essex County prosecutor Carolyn Murray informs that the victim of the assault is now out of the hospital and she is doing much better.
