Click-Click

As you probably know the owners of the best known websites are very, very rich men and this of course may seem natural to everyone, but how exactly does someone with a popular site become filthy rich? Can you do it too? I could say that it has a lot to do with advertising, marketing and the general management of the website and I wouldn't be lying but it could become a very long or maybe endless story. So to make a long story short I'll just say the basic rule: 'the more clicks you have the more money you earn'. It does not get any simpler than that. If you doubt what I'm saying just think about a site called Google or let`s say Yahoo!.

I don't think you have never heard of these two sites and that's because they're leaders in this game and it all comes down as I said earlier to the number of clicks a sites gets. Google and Yahoo! receive most of the hits because they have the most to offer so to speak but that's not all. Nowadays it's not enough to just offer the best quality stuff for free in order to receive most of the clicks. You also have to be able to offer these services to everyone so that means going worldwide and translating the content of a webpage into different languages if not all. For example Google has done this and as a result has not only one website up in the top but several which means even more revenue. Even though the main language used on the internet is still English one can not overlook the fact that not everyone that has a computer with an internet connection knows the language and even if they did that still wouldn't mean that they prefer an English written website over one in their native language. This is especially true for languages that use different characters, like Chinese for example, and considering that the Chinese population is the largest in the world their language should NOT be overlooked. The same can be said about the Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Indian dialects. It can be seen on sites such as Alexa that virtual unknown sites to westerners written in Chinese or Japanese have very good page ranks thanks to the number of clicks they receive.

This being said I think you understand why Google is worth billions, because it gets millions of clicks daily. That's the basic key to success in this business, get as many clicks as possible from all over the world, day after day after day. It is not enough to offer some extraordinary service for free if very few people have access to it, you have to make sure that everyone understands the offer first. So in conclusion, an idea - no matter how brilliant it is - will never help you get the number one spot if you can't spread it across the users. You will have to make sure that anyone that might want to try a service can actually do so, because in the end it all comes down to a click.
