Namco Networks, one of the leading publishers and developers of wireless games and network content, recently announced an exclusive partnership with KDDI, one of Japan's largest mobile carriers. Through the partnership, Namco will publish KDDI's large catalog of hit mobile games from Japanese publishers and developers.

Because of Namco's strength in the North American mobile gaming market and its history of success in localizing content from Japan, KDDI recognized Namco as an ideal partner and publisher to distribute their proven catalog of games.

"Partnering with Namco allows us to work with an established leader in the North American mobile market, ensuring the quality of the localization and successful distribution of our catalog of Japanese games to North American wireless subscribers," said Takashi Nagashima, General Manager, Content and EC Division Content and Media Business Sector of KDDI. "Publishers of KDDI's games that currently do not have distribution in the North American market can now build a presence through this relationship with Namco."

Utilizing BREW technology, KDDI provides popular, quality games to its more than 25 million mobile subscribers throughout Japan. Its acclaimed mobile games catalog includes an array of puzzle, action and strategy games.

"Partnering with KDDI extends our casual gaming catalog, allowing us to continue to meet the growing demand for casual mobile games in our market," said Kenji Hisatsune, President and CEO of Namco Networks. "The portfolio of mobile games that KDDI offers has proven to be highly successful in Japan, a trend we anticipate to continue in the U.S."
