Video game developer and publisher Namco Bandai says that it plans to update a stage in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 that uses a pattern on the floor of the level that includes Arab script that Muslims might find offensive.

An official message from Katsuhiro Harada, the leader of development on the fighting game series, reads “We didn't know that. We will change stage design data as soon as possible. We couldn't read that. RT @DENGOJIN @iSymbiox”

The company has not said exactly when it plans to update the game and whether it will make the scrip fix part of a wider patch for the fighting game.

Recently, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision were forced to take a map out of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 after content was found that could be offensive to Muslims.

The two companies have since then updated the game in order to make sure that none of their content can be considered an insult.
