Namco Bandai Brings the Slopes to Your Wii

- Prepare your Mii for the ride of its life

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Namco Bandai does not only mean Soulcalibur, Naruto or Tekken. They also seem to like being the first company to use a new and innovative platform – the Nintendo Wii and its Wii Balance Board.
The game they're preparing to launch this spring is called We Ski and it promises to bring you the exciting skiing experience as you never felt it before in a video game – real, real, real.

In We Ski, up to four skiers can test their skills on more than a dozen runs, from the bunny slopes to the most challenging Black Diamonds, whatever that means. Anyway, the most exciting part of the game will definitely be the one when you'll jump on the Wii Balance Board for the first time and feel the adrenaline pumping. Also, you will be able to use your own Mii to ski on the Wii (I just had to say that!) or create a brand new one for your ice-cold experience. In order to do that, We Ski comes with a host of customizable options including changeable face and body types. Boosting the customization feature, additional skis, poles, goggles, and costumes can be unlocked.

"We are thrilled to be the first publisher to offer a realistic and enjoyable skiing experience that can also support the new Wii Balance Board," said Todd Thorson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Namco Bandai Games America. " Namco Bandai is working to entertain both casual gamers and hardcore enthusiasts with a recreation of a beloved sport and pastime."

The game will bring you an entire mountain to explore and it will have everything: a ski school, freestyle skiing competitions as well as slaloms, photography, and a variety of other events. And, for the moments when you'll get bored of all these, you'll get the option to go night skiing, while enjoying the spectrum of fireworks that color the sky. The game will be released this spring.
