Naked Harry Potter Upsets Parents

Yesterday, the first photos for the advertising campaign for the play 'Equus' were released and, useless to say, some parents are already upset to see that Harry Potter, the little wizard that their children look up to, is baring so much skin. Actually, he is baring it all, both in the photos and in the upcoming play.

Although the British star talked about this particular part as early as last autumn, somehow warning his fans that they would be seeing him in a posture they would have never imagined he would be, some still say that the shift is too radical to be tolerated.

'Part of me wants to shake up people's perception of me, just shove me in a blender. It's a really challenging play, and if I can pull it off - we don't know if I can yet - I hope people would stop and think, "Maybe he can do something other than Harry"', Radcliffe told 'Newsweek' in October 2006. In the same interview, the actor who came to fame with the 'Harry Potter' blockbuster movies, confirms that the play would include a nude scene, in which he would be high up on a horse.

It seems that he didn't want to reveal all the details of Peter Shaffer's 'Equus' back then, because reports from the media indicate that not only would he appear naked with a horse, but also in a nude sex scene with co-star Joanna Christie. Daniel plays the part of Alan Strang, a troubled stable boy that can only get sexual satisfaction when riding horse.

However, some parents are not yet ready to see the 17-year-old actor in the buff, as several comments posted on the Harry Potter official website indicate. While many say that they will never take their children to see any other future movie he makes, others are still amazed by the fact that his parents agreed to him stripping off all his clothes.

Vanessa Davies, Radcliffe's publicist insists that Daniel is doing this not simply because he wants to distance himself from the popular Harry Potter but more because he aims to prove that he is a talented actor who can play any part that is required of him, no matter how difficult or controversial. 'Daniel does not want to step away from Harry Potter but he does want to show he is a rounded actor capable of very different and diverse roles.', Davies said, adding that he has the 'full support' of the Harry Potter fanbase.

'Equus' opens on February 27, at the Gielgud Theater in London.

So if he weren't good looking would you still be giving kudos? If that is your observation then I suggest it is your wanker that is talking, and you are negating Mr. Radcliffe's motivation to demonstrate his reach as an actor.
His good looking nakedness is for you?
Also, if 17 years of age is not a 'kid anymore', then all the men in positions of authority are wanker servers and not pedophiles, so leave them alone. And the women are cougars, not sexual predators.
We are all sexually incapable of self control, fidelity and treating each other with human dignity; is this the truth? Are we merely carriers of the object which is genitalia and sexual drive to use and abuse all of the above?
Could I have a cigarette please?

Well I give Daniel Kudos for his bravery on taking on this role of Equus! Not too many actors have the courage to do that kind of acting. Not only is it nude but live onstage! Now that is vulnerability to the extreme, and he not only did the job but Daniel did an EXCELLENT work in that role! So all of you idiots who can't identify what art is, go back to your Disney section of Walmart and leave Daniel Radcliffe alone and he will continue to make his millions being Brilliant! You Go Daniel, You're Fantastic and we love you!!!

Ah come on he is an actor after all. In my book a very good one. Harry Potter is coming to an end he has to go some place. Give him a break he deserves it. I am in my 50's and don't think anything less of him. A Fan

He is more than an actor he is a very rich actor. He also is influential. And vocal.
His socio-political and sexual viewpoints have a vast and impressionable audience.
Accept it or not he carries that burden.
There are many break out of a typecast without going Bareback Mount.
