14 DAY TRIAL // Yesterday, Nadya Suleman, also dubbed Octomom in the press, received a visit from authorities after her hairstylist went to the police to tell horrible stories about the living conditions in the house she shares with her 14 kids. All stories were true, photos prove.
Because she had all children via artificial insemination, and mostly because she never held on to a steady job and would often rely on government assistance, Suleman was forced to defend herself repeatedly against accusations of being an unfit parent.
Whether she'll be able to do the same now is anyone's guess.
After breaking the news that Children's Services and police officers visited Nadya at home to establish whether there was any truth to her hairstylist's claims that she and the kids lived in squalor, TMZ has photos to prove it.
The toilet in her house doesn't function properly (because Nadya claims she doesn't have the money to fix the plumbing) and the kids have to go on portable toilets in the background, the images show.
They were taken by a hairstylist Suleman contracted once, whom she paid five times the price of repairs for the plumbing.
During the visit, the woman tells TMZ, Suleman locked the kids in the bedroom, placing a chair in the door to prevent them from opening from the other side.
“TMZ has obtained pictures of Octomom Nadya Suleman's home that have triggered a police and child services investigation into allegations that her 14 kids are living in horrendous conditions and are being grossly neglected,” the celebrity e-zine writes.
“One picture shows two children pooping in a portable training toilet in the backyard. We're told the plumbing in the house is shot, and only one toilet is operational,” TMZ writes.
“Another photo shows Octo just after she got her hair done. What's shocking is that she locked her kids in the bedroom by propping a chair against the door so they couldn't get out,” says the same media outlet.
“Yet another pic shows the children's bedroom, with 2 cribs and a mattress. Stephanie told cops some of the kids are forced to sleep on the floor. And there's more... a pic shows some of the kids in the backyard, barefoot, dirty and wearing no pants,” TMZ adds.
In each photo, the state of Suleman's house is painfully obvious: there's graffiti on every wall, very little to no furniture, and complete disarray.
