The case of Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to the world’s first surviving octuplets in January, has generated more controversy than any other story in showbiz. Because of this, it has been said, the 33-year-old mother of 14 is still trying to redeem her reputation with the public, with the latest media deal consisting of inviting the British tab the Daily Mail inside her new house to meet six of the octuplets, and pose for exclusive pictures with them.

The four-bedroom home in La Habra, California, is in chaos for most of the time, the photos in the tabloid apparently hint, although Nadya gets the best to help her cope with the situation – however, it’s not the same chaos that reigned in the house she used to share with her mother. The pictures themselves seem to speak of a mother’s undying love, trying to tell (again) the story of a woman who wanted so many children because she grew up alone and did not want the same to happen to her babies as well. They also reveal that Suleman gets plenty of help with the new additions to her already large family, most of which is paid by the state.

“Although she said initially that she did not intend to rely on government handouts to care for her 14 children, Miss Suleman admits the family is still on welfare. The children get free food and formula milk which alone costs nearly £1,400 a month, according to their mother. An army of nannies, paid for by the state, helps with the exhausting round-the-clock routine of feeds and nappy changes. Two nurses also visit her every day to provide additional support. Miss Suleman is said to have used money she made from media interest in the births to pay for her new £400,000 four-bedroom home in La Habra, California. She said she doesn’t let the public scrutiny get to her, adding: ‘I have to let go of what people think. I can’t live like that’.” the Mail writes.

While visiting the OctoHouse – being among the first publications to do so – the Mail also managed to get confirmation of the much rumored and controversial upcoming reality show. Suleman continues to be shy about it, which could possibly be explained by the fact that she’s not allowed to reveal any details regarding it. Her attorney, though, is not so tight-lipped. “Like anyone else, she wants to be portrayed in a positive light and she feels she needs to do something to get her side out. The idea is generally to follow her and her family around when the babies get a little older.” says Jeff Czech, as quoted by the same publication.
