Octomom shocks again in new interview, is still defending herself

Because she's a single mother of no less than 14 children, Nadya Suleman can't keep a regular job, but she does make ends meet with appearances and various other odd jobs. Speaking with Dateline NBC, she admits she regrets having the octuplets 3 years ago.

After giving birth to them, Suleman was dubbed Octomom in the press and, in almost no time, she became the most vilified woman in America – when word got out that she had another 6 minors at home.

She was – and still is – a single mother with no stable job and, as such, no reliable revenue. Most of the time, she relied on government assistance to get by.

The latest controversy is also due to her willingness to ask for state support to put food on the table for her 14 children, since she's back on food stamps.

Having told Matt Lauer before that this was just a “temporary” measure to help her get back on her feet, Suleman is speaking out again, this time with Dateline NBC.

In the video below, for instance, she admits that having the octuplets was a mistake – she realizes that now, in retrospect.

“Looking back, was it a mistake to go back and have IVF after having six children already?” interviewer Tamron Hall asks her.

“Yes. Absolutely. Was I was in my lucid state of mind? I don't know at that point. I could rationalize myself away and I'm good at rationalizing,” Suleman replies.

In the same interview, Hall presses Suleman to talk about whether she even thought about how she'd provide for the children before asking for another round of IVF.

“I think at that time I was in denial,” she says, confirming that she never thought past of getting pregnant and delivering the babies.

Suleman is again criticized and has even received death threats for living on food stamps, thus forcing California taxpayers basically to provide for herself and her 14 children.
