Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to octuplets and became known as Octomom, is now so strapped for cash that she’s already agreed to appear on a brand new dating show, it has emerged.

This is not the first time that Suleman’s name is associated to a reality show – a dating series, no less – but, unlike so far, this time it’s for real.

PopEater reports that Octomom has been approached to be on a show called “Celebridate,” an offer she accepted for more reasons that just the fact that she needs the money.

Being a mother to octuplets and six other small children (she has 14 kids in total), Suleman hardly has any time to date; or, if she does make the time, few are the men who would go out with a woman with such a large family.

Naturally, she jumped at the chance to kill two birds with a single stone.

“I was lucky enough to be invited to be a part of it. I have not watched TV in almost a decade, but I might just tune into this one!” Suleman says for the aforementioned e-zine.

“This is called ‘Celebridate’ and I don’t perceive myself to be a celebrity, but I guess they do. To a certain degree, I am in the public eye,” Octomom goes on to say.

The dating she’ll do on the show will also mark the first real date she’s had in years, Suleman explains. Even though she’s a mother of 14 kids, she only had one boyfriend in her entire life.

“I’ve never dated. This is actually the first time I have dated in my life. I’ve had one boyfriend, it was very fascinating to me; it was an unforgettable experience,” Suleman says.

The fact that she’s not the most outgoing and confident person doesn’t help with her lack of a social life.

“I am painfully shy and anxious... that’s just my personality. So it’s difficult for me to interact and to have eye contact,” she says.

“Celebridate” will premiere in October on HDNet, with Roger Lodge of “Blind Date” as host. For each celebrity on the show, 3 “regular” people are brought in: they will compete for the star’s affections and be eliminated until only one is left standing.
