Nadya Suleman has long struck a deal with a production company to start work on her own reality show, a series that would border more on documentary and would ultimately serve as some sort of diary for OctoMom than for purely entertainment purposes, as it was said. Eager to get to work, Suleman has applied for work permits for her 14 children, which would allow her to include them in the series, and has already begun to shoot for the show – which is currently focusing only on her, an EW report says.

The idea behind Suleman’s yet-untitled series is that it would show the world the truth behind the gossip and the bad public image OctoMom has. The only thing that managed, at one point, to get audiences interested was that it would stand as a glimpse inside America’s most mediated family (after the Jolie-Pitt's perhaps), where a single, unemployed mother tries to raise no less than 14 children. With this is mind, it’s not hard to understand why several publications are already showing a less marked interest in the reality show now that news broke that the children were not even featured in it.

Still, this applies only momentarily, in the initial stages of production, EW vouches. “Nadya ‘Octomom’ Suleman, 33, signed a contract in May with production company Eyeworks for her family to star in a reality show, her lawyer confirms to EW. Production on the show (which is not yet attached to a network) has begun, but Suleman’s 14 children are currently being kept off camera while work permit issues are considered. There is no name for the show yet and no due date has been officially set. ‘Eyeworks has commenced filming Ms. Suleman and has been careful not to film the children.’ says the attorney.” a post on EW informs.

As we were also telling you the other day, Suleman filed the necessary papers that would allow her to expose all her 14 children to the camera. According to them, if Suleman’s request is granted, they would stand to make a total of $250,000 over the next years, money that would be rightfully theirs and Nadya would not be allowed to touch in any way. As expected, because of the precipitation to get the show going, speculation of her exploiting her kids for money, and ruining their lives in the process, has already started making the rounds, especially in the blogosphere.

Suleman’s attorney, though, is adamant that exploitation is not the case with OctoMom. “[Jeffrey] Czech told EW that Suleman agreed to do the show so that she does not have to accept state financial aid to cover the costs of raising her large family. ‘Nadya needs the money to support her family; why on earth would she not accept [a reality show] offer?’ Czech said. ‘She has major expenses to raise her children. Therefore, the allegations that she is using her children for her own financial gain are simply not true.’” EW further explains.
