It looks like Microsoft’s new CEO is more appreciated by company employees

Microsoft is getting through a major reorganization process this year and in February Satya Nadella replaced Steve Ballmer at the helm of the company.

Figures provided by Glassdoor employment review and ratings site and published by GeekWire indicate that Nadella is already more appreciated than his predecessor by company employees, gaining a CEO approval rating twice as big as Ballmer’s.

Nadella has an overall rating of 88 percent, while the industry average is at 69 percent. Ballmer’s average was at 44 percent before retiring from the top job at Microsoft.

And that’s not all. Ballmer’s best rating was achieved in the second quarter of 2012 when he reached 56 percent, but Satya Nadella is expected to do a lot better than that and achieve 96 percent.

These figures, however, were collected before the massive job cuts announced this week, so do not be too surprised if the CEO approval rating is dropping a little bit for Satya Nadella in the coming months. And still, those who will remain within the company will most likely embrace Microsoft’s new vision, standing by every little change that Nadella might make.

Satya Nadella is already trying to move away from Steve Ballmer’s “old Microsoft” with the help of a new transition plan that pushes the company to a cloud-first, mobile-first approach, as compared to devices and services as it was the case with the former CEO.
