ASUS seems to have decided that it wants to start out its exhibition in Hanover, Germany in full force, with the Taiwanese company having already put on display a variety of products, from top-tier motherboards to its very first e-book reading device. Now, after the hardware and PC maker's Bamboo Series notebooks have already been previewed, the company's lineup has welcomed yet another mobile PC, namely the NX90.

The ASUS NX90 is a laptop designed by David Lewis and, with its advanced controls and special audio systems, it is essentially intended as a multimedia desktop replacement. The product is based on the mobile Intel HM55 chipset and runs on a choice of Intel Core i5 and i7 central processing units.

The CPU is paired with a solid amount of memory, namely up to 12GB of 1066MHz DDR3. Also, the mobile PC comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M graphics, which has 1GB of VRAM and outputs video to a full high-definition (FHD), LED-backlit LCD screen. This display measures 18.4 inches and supports resolutions of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The NX90 will be able to act as a multimedia desktop replacement because, essentially, it is itself a multimedia powerhouse. In fact, the device is even built with audio by Bang and Olufsen and even boasts dual touchpads and the Rotation Desktop interface. These elements practically confer upon the notebook genuine and intuitive, DJ-like multimedia control capabilities.

In order for end-users to take advantage of the most widespread media through which full-HD content is distributed, the new high-performance laptop from ASUS features a slot-in BD combo/DVD Super Multi optical unit. As for storage, the PC boasts dual hard drive support, for up to 1280GB (2 x 640GB HDD) and even USB 3.0 support, for quick interfacing with external storage devices.

The device measures 526 x 280 x 30-43.8mm, weighs 4.8kg and comes with a six-cell battery. The bank-breaking price is, for better or worse, still unknown at this time, but the product itself should come out around the middle of the ongoing year.
