A class action lawsuit is in the making over the integration between NVidia graphics cards and Windows Vista. GPU giant NVidia is facing potential legal action from users that have bought products marketed as Windows Vista compatible, only to find out that they got less than what they bargained for.

The fact that they have acquired NVidia graphic cards commercialized with the Windows Vista Ready logo, to end up with a product that is not in fact fully compatible with the latest operating system from Microsoft has irritated a lot of consumers.

Microsoft did reveal in the past, via the voice of Jim Allchin, former Co-President, Platform and Services Division, that Windows Vista is designed in such a manner that it will be continuously upgraded through the update infrastructure that the Redmond Company has available. In fact, Allchin advised users that the first thing they should do following the installation of Vista is to update the operating system.

NvidiaClassAction is a website that accepts registrations and complaints together with proofs of incompatibility. "The issue is currently under review by one legal firm and a response is expected within three business days. I will attempt to work with two additional firms if necessary to have the case reviewed and will post findings here. In the event it is declined across the board, the site will be disabled," informs the website's owner.

NVidia has been laboring in order to get full functionality for its products under Windows Vista by the commercial availability of the operating system. As of yet, NVidia failed to comment in any manner the potential class action lawsuit over the vista drivers.
