Yesterday, we reported on the news about the early previews of what Lucid's Hydra 200 chip was capable of, at that development stage. While the product is still some time away from becoming available to consumers, there are reports claiming that the technology has been delayed from market availability due to interference from the Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA. On that note, it appears that NVIDIA has now come up with an official answer to said reports, pointing out that there were no efforts made to disable the aforementioned technology, from its part.

Following the said news story, our fellow colleagues over at Fudzilla contacted the graphics chip maker for an official response to the rumored implication in the reported delay of Lucid's multi-GPU technology. That statement came from Igor Stanek, NVIDIA's product PR manager for Central Europe, who had this to say: “We (Nvidia) welcome Lucid to the market. We do believe that NVIDIA SLI is the best multi GPU solution, and we work hard to meet gamers’ expectations that SLI solutions deliver great performance. Despite unfounded rumors, we have not done anything to disable Lucid’s technology.”

As presented in previous articles, Lucid's Hydra technology has been designed to enable consumers with the freedom to boost their system's graphics performance by mixing different GPUs from either the same vendor or different vendors. One of the early implementations of the said chip will be on an upcoming MSI motherboard, dubbed Big Bang, which has been delayed due to some issues that have been encountered with the chip's drivers.

What is clear is that the said MSI motherboard is pretty much real and that we should see it on the market soon enough, considering that MSI has invested marketing and R&D into this board and will likely want to see it being released.
