Some time ago, NVIDIA announced it was entering the tablet game with a revolutionary new slate. Now the Tegra Note 7 has been taken up by some third-party partners and will soon be made available in markets like the US and UK.

NVIDIA teased the slate at a conference in Eastern Europe and we had the chance to acquaint ourselves with it. The tablet features a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and while we have seen slates with better capabilities in this department, the colors were surprisingly crisp and objects were well displayed.

The company has added its latest chip endeavor, the Tegra 4 to the slate plus 72-core GeForce GPU, so there wasn't any noticeable lag while swiping through the Android interface.

NVDIA has focused its efforts into providing a superior gaming experience here, so it has added the GameStream technology that allows games to run extremely smoothly. The addition is important, since the Tegra slate offers access to NVIDIA’s TegraZone gaming ecosystem.

We spend a few minutes playing Dead Trigger 2 and noticed the rich graphics and the low-latency. Unlike many tablets, the Tegra’s speaker grills are placed in the front, so the sound comes towards you instead of dissipating away.

The tablet comes bundled with a smart pen that takes advantage of the DirectStylus technology and is really fun to use. As opposed to other styluses, this one is not pressure sensitive. Instead it features an asymmetrical tip which creates different degrees of thickness depending on which angle is used.

Drawing or writing text on the Tegra Note 7 is really easy and intuitive and feels just like you’d be writing with a real life pen. On top of that, you always have the “lasso” function available to you, so if you want to share a drawing or a note with somebody you can simply encircle it and send it via to Facebook or Google+.

The slate also comes with a nice protective cover, which can be folded up into a stand to support the device. At the moment, the Tegra Note 7 is not yet available for purchase in this part of the world, but when it does it should sport a price tag similar to $199 / €149.
