Just now, NVIDIA has unveiled its latest Tesla graphics driver, namely version 340.84, which maintains support for CUDA 6.5 and also adds compatibility with its Tesla K8 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

When it comes to the supported configurations, this release can be applied on both 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

As for the suitable GPU series, version 340.84 is to be installed on computers powered by one of the aforementioned OSes that include one of NVIDIA’s Tesla K40c, K40m, K40s, K40st, K20Xm, K20m, K20s, K20c, K10, or K8 chipsets.

Moreover, besides the K-Series devices, the present release can also work along with the producer’s Tesla C-Class (C2075, C2070, C2050, and C1060), X-Class (X2070 and X2090), and M-Class (M2090, M2075, M2070, M2070-Q, M2050, and M1060) GPUs.

Another important aspect that the producer recommends taking into account is that Maximus system owners should use the NVIDIA Quadro/Tesla Graphics Driver 333.11 (or newer Quadro + Tesla releases), as this package is specifically designed for workstations and rendering applications.

In order to apply the driver, simply save and run the appropriate package for your system configuration, wait for the wizard to extract all required files, and then follow the on-screen instructions for a complete update. Also, don’t forget to reboot the computer to ensure all changes take effect.

That being said, download NVIDIA Tesla Graphics Driver 340.84, apply the package, and check our website as often as possible in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
