It would seem like, this once at least, whatever video controller NVIDIA is working on won't be delayed again, as the outfit actually went as far as releasing a teaser video starring Tom Petersen, its director of technical marketing.

Back when Advanced Micro Devices unleashed its Radeon HD 6990 dual-GPU graphics adapter, consumers were, understandably, eagerly looking forward to NVIDIA's response.

By all accounts, the so-called GeForce GTX 590 dual-Fermi board should have come out and started selling already.

Unfortunately, for reasons that will probably not be elaborated upon, the Santa Clara, California-based GPU maker pushed back the launch.

Now, the same outfit released a fairly short teaser video in which NVIDIA director of technical marketing says that a next-generation card is coming in fast.

Oddly enough, the outfit has forbidden anyone and everyone from actually saying exactly which model this is, even though users will, inevitably, assume it is the GTX 590 (though we are not saying it is).

All the short clip says is that the formal announcement of whatever board it may be will take place on the 24th of March, on Thursday as it were.

It is, of course, possible that the outfit may decide to drop a bomb and unravel a totally different product, (anything is possible after all).

Still, for those that are assuming (and hoping) for the top-tier, two-chip model, a reminder of the basic facts about it may come in handy.

That said, the GTX 590 will have two Fermi GPUs (with 512 CUDA cores each) operating in SLI on the same PCB.

All that remains is to see just how it fares in benchmarking tests against AMD's already available beast (again, unless the company decides to slam us with a totally different adapter, however outlandish the possibility may be).
