Following Apple’s release of OS X Mavericks 10.9.2, NVIDIA quietly deployed a new set of video card drivers for users with NVIDIA GPUs inside their Macs. Apple is not offering these drivers as official downloads yet.

According to tonymacx86, NVIDIA’s alternate graphics drivers for OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 are “separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental.” Basically, people who aren’t experiencing any problems should just stay put.

Those who believe they are experiencing one or more graphics-related issues because of 10.9.2 can install the drivers via software update. Customers who haven’t installed NVIDIA drivers before will need to manually navigate to the chip maker’s site and grab the goods from there. As always, Softpedia has you covered in case you want them now.

You can download Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver 331.01.01f01 at the supplied link for GeForce 600 series: GTX 680 for Mac, GeForce 200 series: GTX 285 for Mac, GeForce 100 series: GT 120, GeForce 8 series: 8800 GT, Quadro series: K5000 for Mac, 4000 for Mac, and Quadro FX series: FX 5600, FX 4800 for Mac.

The update also delivers an NVIDIA Driver Manager preference pane and “contains performance improvements and bug fixes for a wide range of applications,” according to NVIDIA.
